Native launched as a crypto specialist insurance broker with $2.6M in seed funding led by Nexus Mutual. The firm will offer on-chain cover, starting by providing $20 million of on-chain cover per risk. Native will also run a capital pool on Nexus Mutual and act as a managing general agent (MGA), participating in underwriting as well as distribution. Clients can pay in crypto or be paid in crypto in the event of a claim. Native's stated aim is to address chronic underinsurance in crypto by increasing capacity through connections to Nexus’s capital pools and by providing capital and underwriting support.
