Natufia Labs, based in Tallinn, Estonia, builds the Natufia Kitchen Garden, a connected appliance that automatically grows a variety of plants, vegetables, flowers and herbs year-round in households and restaurant kitchens. The product uses machine learning and real-time data analysis to process environmental changes and adjust its settings accordingly. The company currently offers more than 30 types of fully organic and recycled seed capsules, including basil and kale. Led by CEO Gregory Lu, Natufia plans to use its recent funding to expand into Europe and the US and expects its product to go on sale imminently. Natufia closed a $1.2m seed funding round to support these plans. The round was led by Butterfly Ventures, Techstars and the Dubai-based family office Ginco Investments.
