Overview
Navigaya is a Flash-designed content platform that immerses users in a music-focused browsing experience by streaming music videos from six engines (YouTube, Google Video, MetaCafe, Vimeo, MegaVideo and Navigaya's own engine). Its native video engine supports 1080p and streams HD when possible, with an option to toggle quality to reduce CPU load. The user interface includes drag-and-drop playlist creation, a built-in browser, a custom Twitter app, and video conferencing for up to six simultaneous users, alongside a curated 'navicontent' section. Navigaya offers a white-label version and a backend designed to support monetization of music/video downloads, ringtones, concert tickets and merchandise. The Israel-based team has raised $800,000 from a private angel investor and is developing an HTML5 'mini' version for iPhone and iPad. TechCrunch provided exclusive access to 1,000 readers to try the product.
