Naza Beauty operates a software-powered salon that offers a menu of five protective styles with 25 variations — braids, twists, sew-in extensions, blowouts and crochet styles — each completed in four hours or less. The company does not perform hair cuts, coloring or chemical treatments. Its booking and payments software learns customers' preferred styles and provides product recommendations. Through Naza Labs, Naza develops its own products and runs a community testing program with capacity for up to 10,000 people to co-create products from idea to testing. The startup is opening its first location in San Francisco this week. Naza positions itself as reimagining the end-to-end beauty experience for Black and brown women and centers textures often ignored by mainstream brands. The company recently completed a $1 million funding round led by Initialized Capital.
