NearSt raised £2m in seed funding led by YYX Capital and has now raised £3.2m to date. Founded in 2015 by Max Kreijn and Nick Brackenbury, the company is based in London. It has built a platform that links products on shop shelves in real time to nearby customers searching in Google, surfacing items that might otherwise be hidden on store shelves. Shops install a piece of software that connects automatically to any type of till or inventory management system so products begin appearing in local search results. NearSt plans to use the funds to accelerate uptake by UK retailers through a wave of new hires and to launch its offering in the US.
