Overview
NED Biosystems is a clinical-stage biotech developing NED-170, a 7-component oral combination therapy designed to target five physiological processes that drive late-stage cancers. The company plans to initiate a Phase 2 clinical trial of NED-170 by early 2019. NED-170 is dosed daily and seeks to provide longer survival with high quality of life by avoiding the customary toxicity of typical cancer treatments; FDA has agreed to an abbreviated 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway for the product. The company says the extensive history of the individual components and generated data support the combination approach. NED Biosystems is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was founded by Rebecca Lambert, and aims to make the oral, cost-effective treatment accessible in the US and the developing world. Management and scientific leadership were recently expanded with the appointment of Marc Blaustein as CEO and additions to its Scientific Advisory Board, including a Nobel Laureate.
