Nemysis develops a proprietary pipeline targeting iron deficiency/anemia and gluten intolerance, including a nano-particulate iron (IHAT), a gastric- and trypsin-resistant glutenase (E40), and a hyaluronic acid–based delivery matrix. The company in-licensed its lead nano-particulate iron (IHAT) from the UK’s Medical Research Council (MRC‑LifeArc) and has registered four trademarks for its products. Nemysis completed a €1m seed funding round to advance its lead candidate through Pharma GMP scale up and sub‑chronic toxicity studies. Its near‑term regulatory plan is to file the iron product for Novel Food status with EFSA and target market access as a food supplement under the Nutrafer™ and Dietofer™ trademarks by late 2020. Subject to further funding, the company intends to pursue drug status for the iron product under the IDAX™ trademark. Nemysis also plans to advance two gluten intolerance products, forecasted to reach the market in 2021, initially as food supplements and subsequently to seek clinical validation for prescription use.
