Neoplas Med developed the kINPen® MED argon cold plasma jet, a handheld “plasma pen” that directs a precise argon plasma onto wounds to accelerate healing. Clinical studies cited by the company report treatment time can be reduced by 50% versus conventional methods without side effects or developing resistance. The company says it is almost the only firm using inert gas argon for this therapy and is the only manufacturer of cold plasma products in Europe that is MDR certified. Argon jet plasma has antibacterial effects and the treatment has been used in more than 500,000 treatments worldwide; in Germany 75% of university clinics and numerous medical practices and hospitals utilize the patented therapy. Neoplas Med submitted a trial-study application in April 2021 that was approved by the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) in February 2023, and a reimbursement-related decision published by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians is currently being reviewed. The company plans to further develop its technology platform, create new products and scale operations internationally with a primary focus on the US, Europe and the Middle East.
