Neos Surgery researches, develops and markets implantable surgical devices for brain, spinal and cardiothoracic procedures, with products aimed at closing craniotomy flaps and treating herniated lumbar disks. The company currently markets two devices, Cranial LOOP™ and Cranial COVER™, designed to close craniotomy flaps without instruments. It closed 2019 with €1.5m in revenue and has sales in 12 countries across Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia. Led by managing partner Lluís Chico, Neos was founded by neurosurgeons and the Eurecat Technology Centre in an alliance with Tecnalia and private investors. The company intends to use the funds to advance clinical validation of the DISC care™ solution and to pursue regulatory and EC certification to support international commercialization. In 2020 it began a precommercial clinical study on DISC care™ and in 2021 expected to launch a new non‑traumatic surgical closing device for cardiac surgery.
