Overview
NeoTherma Oncology develops VectRx™, a noninvasive bioelectric thermal oncology therapeutic device system designed to deliver image-guided adjuvant thermal therapy via existing MRI scanners. VectRx is positioned for use alongside standard-of-care radio-, chemo- and immuno-therapies and is intended to treat a range of cancers including Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma. The platform has received FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation for pancreatic cancer, which the company says will expedite patient access. NeoTherma plans to complete and qualify the VectRx medical device and begin clinical studies in patients with pancreatic cancer. The company closed a $6 million financing to fund human testing and advance the device toward commercialization. Management emphasizes the therapy’s potential to increase life expectancy and improve quality of life for patients receiving it in addition to standard treatments.
