NerdWallet provides consumers with online tools, research and expert advice to navigate credit cards, insurance, loans and expenses such as hospital costs. The platform is led by co-founder and CEO Tim Chen. In October 2015 the company announced a $5M funding from Camelot Financial Capital Management LLC, and Simon Williams of Camelot joined NerdWallet’s board to leverage his banking experience to help grow the business. That investment brought NerdWallet’s Series A to $69M after a $64M close announced in May 2015. The company is based in San Francisco, CA and at the time reported more than 270 employees.
