NestAI
Lapinlahdenkatu 16, Helsinki, 00180, Finland
Overview
NestAI is a Finnish startup focused on applying large language models and related AI technologies to real-world robotics and defense use cases, a field it calls “physical AI.” The company is developing software and hardware that enable autonomous capabilities in unmanned vehicles, battlefield command systems, and other mission-critical environments. A newly announced partnership with Nokia will accelerate the co-development of these defense applications while NestAI builds what it calls “Europe’s leading physical AI lab.” Co-founder Peter Sarlin, fresh off the $665 million sale of his previous company Silo AI to AMD, is funding the venture through his family office PostScriptum and will serve as chairman while retaining his role at AMD. NestAI has deliberately stayed in stealth to prioritize European technological sovereignty, recently agreeing to help the Finnish Defense Forces adopt AI. Although the startup does not yet have a CEO, it has hired engineers and researchers with backgrounds at Intel, Kongsberg, Palantir, and Saab. No revenue or user figures have been disclosed.
