NeuCoin is a new cryptocurrency and startup built to make online micropayments and tipping content creators seamless. It uses a proof-of-stake design and an economic model intended to avoid mining oligopolies. The project plans to release 3 billion pre-mined coins in April and will give new wallet users and participating companies some free coins. NeuCoin has signed partnerships with content distributors MondoMedia, Jango, and Radio Airplay as proof of concept. The company raised $2.25 million from dozens of business angels and named several prominent backers.
