Neumentum
350 Springfield Ave. #200, Summit, New Jersey, 07901, United States
Overview
Neumentum is developing and plans to commercialize products to treat pain while avoiding the abuse, misuse and diversion risks of opioid analgesics. Its lead candidate, NTM-001, is an alcohol-free formulation of the NSAID ketorolac in a pre-mixed bag designed for 24-hour continuous infusion after surgery. NTM-001 is being evaluated to manage moderately severe acute pain that typically requires opioid-level analgesia and could reduce the need for opioid pain relievers. The company intends to use newly raised capital to accelerate and complete a Phase I pharmacokinetic study and to prepare for and initiate Phase III clinical trials. The Phase I study will compare NTM-001 continuous infusion with ketorolac IV injection every 6 hours across four cohorts, enrolling 64 subjects at two sites. Neumentum is led by co-founder and CEO Scott Shively. Neumentum is developing non-opioid drug candidates intended to provide opioid-strength analgesia for acute and postsurgical pain without the risks of abuse, misuse and diversion. Its lead candidates are NTM-001, a pre-mixed bag ketorolac continuous infusion, and NTM-002, an IV patient-controlled analgesia formulation. The company plans to pursue a Phase 3 program for NTM-001 and has requested a Type B meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to discuss that program. Neumentum says its formulations offer a smooth 24-hour pharmacokinetic profile for continuous infusion and that its products have strong patent protection through 2032. The company cites longstanding clinical use of injectable ketorolac (over 30 years and more than 60 million doses administered annually) as the basis for its approach. Neumentum intends to commercialize these products to reduce opioid use in clinical settings and address unmet needs for providers, payers, and patients.
