Neural Drive
Overview
Neural Drive builds a low-cost AI wearable brain-computer interface that captures neural biosignals using a small set of electrodes placed above one eye and behind each ear, and self-calibrates in as little as 10 seconds. The device lets users select on-screen options (e.g., “Food”, “Help”, “I love you”) and control apps like WhatsApp and smart home devices, and is priced at about S$2,500 compared with existing eye-gaze systems that cost S$10,000–S$25,000. The founding team includes Mohammed Khambhati Huzefa and co-founders Kaushik Manian, Raymond Ng and Nyan Lin, and the product has undergone more than 380 iterations. Neural Drive has won multiple competitions, including S$150,000 at the Entrepreneurs Next Star & Million Prize Global Challenge and top placements at TechCrunch Startup Battlefield, LotusHacks, and university hackathons. The company is preparing for an 18-month clinical trial with Tan Tock Seng Hospital involving 30 patients across inpatient, outpatient and home settings and is in early talks with U.S. Veterans Affairs hospitals. It is also exploring expansion into consumer VR/AR applications and developing neural research kits with academic partners to build longitudinal datasets.
