Neurode

11A George Street, Sydney, New South Wales, 2030, Australia

Overview

Neurode produces a wearable headband that uses light electrical stimulation over the prefrontal cortex to treat ADHD symptoms and light-based sensing to monitor changes in brain activity. The device is designed for daily 20-minute use and is currently available through a private beta. Co-founder Nathalie Gouailhardou is a neuroscientist who was diagnosed with ADHD and developed the idea while working with fNIRS brain-imaging equipment; she co-founded the company with Damian Sofrevski. The company was founded in 2021 and filed patents for its device that year. Neurode has raised $3.5 million in pre-seed funding to support clinical trials and early development. Management says the goal is to pursue FDA approval for the device, though no timeline has been provided. The company may expand its wearable technology to other conditions such as age-related cognitive decline and depression in the future.
