Neuroelectrics develops the Starstim non-invasive transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) therapeutic platform that integrates a multi-channel head-piece, personalized treatment protocols, and a cloud-based system for at-home delivery. The platform has been used in hundreds of clinical studies and is powered by more than a decade of continuously improving algorithms to generate personalized brain models and treatment plans. The company completed a pilot study (NCT02866240) in twenty adult and pediatric patients with medically-refractory focal epilepsy, reporting a 44% median reduction in seizure frequency in the eight-week post-treatment follow-up and four patients with ≥75% reduction. Neuroelectrics expects to commence a pivotal study (NCT04770337) for refractory focal epilepsy in the third quarter using a trial design similar to the pilot. In February the company initiated a pilot study (NCT04799405) to evaluate at-home treatment of medically-refractory Major Depressive Disorder. Neuroelectrics is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Barcelona and recently raised new capital to advance its clinical programs and platform development.
