Overview
Neuroglee Therapeutics develops digital therapeutics for people with neurodegenerative diseases, delivering prescription software accessed via smartphone or tablet. Its lead product, NG-001, is a prescription digital therapy for Alzheimer’s that uses adaptive learning, machine learning and biomarkers related to cognitive function, mood and behavior to personalize therapy based on device interaction and facial expression. The company’s pipeline also includes digital therapeutics for Parkinson’s disease and strokes. Neuroglee is collaborating with the Mayo Clinic on Neuroglee Connect to scale the HABIT in-person program into a home-based platform, offering 24/7 health navigators and clinical care teams for assessments and interventions. Since its December 2020 funding, Neuroglee has completed NG-001 product development and begun a proof-of-concept study aimed at pursuing FDA Breakthrough Designation; it raised $10M in a Series A to launch virtual neurology clinics and support a move to Boston. The funding and strategic partners, including Eisai, are intended to commercialize its prescription software and expand clinical access. Founded this year to focus on neurodegenerative diseases, Neuroglee’s core product is NG-001, a prescription digital therapy software for Alzheimer’s that delivers cognitive exercises and personalized treatment programs via tablet. The software tracks patient progress (for example finger speed and task completion time), supports mental-health features such as memory-triggering imagery used with CBT techniques, and helps clinicians and caregivers monitor compliance and outcomes remotely. Neuroglee also plans a clinician-facing platform, Neuroglee Connect, to provide access, support and reimbursement features. The company plans to start clinical trials next year and will seek regulatory clearance (starting with the U.S. FDA) in target markets. Its initial target markets are the United States and Singapore, followed by Japan. The company raised $2.3 million in pre-seed funding to advance product development and trials.
