Overview
Hyper Poland is developing magnetic levitation and hyperloop-inspired solutions as upgrades for the railway industry. The company follows a three-stage roadmap: Magrail (passive magnetic levitation on upgraded existing infrastructure), Hyperrail (vacuum tunnels over magrail) and Hyperloop (new vacuum infrastructure). Its magrail concept targets commercial magnetic-rail speeds up to 300 km/h and pilot vehicles reaching 415 km/h on modernized lines, with hyperrail and hyperloop concepts targeting up to 1000–1200 km/h. The technology combines magnetic levitation, linear motors and autonomous control systems, and the firm plans to adapt these systems to current rail networks and build a full-scale test track. Hyper Poland oversubscribed an equity campaign on Seedrs, raising more than €500K (above a €451K target), and has previously raised around €4 million to date. Founded in 2015, the company was a StartUp Europe Awards 2017 finalist and reports growing interest from transportation players in Germany, Italy and Poland. Hyper Poland is a team of Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering graduates working to develop a Hyperloop prototype. The project aims to build a low‑pressure, high‑speed capsule that uses magnetic levitation and air bearings to reduce drag and reach speeds around 760 mph, enabling journeys such as Cracow to Gdansk in roughly half an hour. The Hyperloop concept was originally proposed by Elon Musk, and SpaceX organised an international competition in which Hyper Poland qualified among 1,200 teams to the first stage. The team is supervised by prof. Janusz Piechna and includes participants linked to tech projects such as Carbon Workshop. To advance prototype development they ran a crowdfunding campaign on Odpalprojekt.pl, initially seeking PLN 40,000. With 454 backers the campaign raised PLN 65,720 (164% of the planned target), and the team says they are ready to take further steps toward creating the prototype.
