Overview

NVBOTS builds the NVPRO, a 3D printer with an automatic removal system and a built-in print server that lets users print from any device. The NVPRO supports large batch printing with parts that pop off the build plate and a central admin to check jobs, plus a library of pre-made objects. NVBOTS sells access to its printers as a subscription and also sells filament; its educational package costs $2,999 per year and allows unlimited users and access to the part library. The company has raised $2 million in funding and currently has 74 users testing its service and printers. The founding team—AJ Perez, Forrest Pieper, Christopher Haid, and Mateo Peña Doll—started the project out of frustrations with 3D printing in college and went to MIT. NVBOTS positions the NVPRO as able to run 24/7 without human interaction and aims to simplify classroom 3D printing to the ease of a copier.
