New Venture is an as-yet-unveiled startup being launched by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. The article does not disclose the company's product or market focus. Pei has raised $7 million in seed financing from friends and private investors to support the new business. Named backers include Tony Fadell, Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin, Steve Huffman, Liam Casey, Paddy Cosgrave and Josh Buckley. The seed funding will support creation of a head office in London, hiring of the team, and ongoing product research and development. Pei left OnePlus in October and plans to unveil the venture early next year.
