NewsTab provides a cross-platform service with dependable RSS reader functionality, enabling users to organize and browse their favorite news sources via an intuitive user interface. Users can follow publications, blogs, any Twitter user or hashtag, as well as Google News topics and Google Alerts. The service surfaces articles using Google’s algorithm to deliver relevant content. The company launched an Android app and a web service and plans an iOS launch in the fall. Led by founder and CEO Arnon Catalan, NewsTab intends to use the new funding to build new features. The company is based in Tel Aviv and announced a $1.5M funding round backed by Paul Maritz and Eyal Levy.
