Nexdot produces atomic sheets, also called fluorescent nanoplatelets, with applications across screens, healthcare, augmented reality, infrared detection and LED lighting. Its manufacturing process and applications are protected by 46 international patents. The company intends to use the €3.5m funding to double its workforce by December 2017, expand to 40 employees by the end of 2019, and to purchase new equipment. Nexdot aims to launch its new materials on the market by 2018. Founded in 2010 and incubated at ESPCI Paris, the company is based in Romainville and had a team of eleven when the funding was announced. Leadership includes founder Benoît Dubertret and president Maurice Guillou, and the company has leased a 275 m2 space at Biocitech for its operations.
