Nexkey offers an end-to-end mobile access-control platform that includes a smartphone app, hardware controllers and lock cylinders that can replace legacy door hardware. The company also provides an API to integrate its access systems with other applications and devices inside a workspace. Nexkey launched its platform a little over nine months ago and brought over 8,500 active users on the platform in the first six months after launch. The startup is using product data to build more visual audit trails and advanced reports accessible via a web portal to help customers optimize space utilization and security. Nexkey is beta testing easier onboarding and tiered access rules in its iOS app based on customer feedback from coworking spaces and gyms. The company recently raised a $6 million Series A to fund expansion and product development after a prior $4.8 million seed round.
