Nexla
400 S El Camino Real #260, San Mateo, CA, 94402, United States
Overview
Nexla offers a data operations platform that centralizes data management and enables customers to build applications on top of that managed data. The company has developed a concept of "data products" that let teams integrate, share and collaborate on datasets. Nexla recently launched an internal marketplace to make those data products discoverable and reusable across organizations. It counts customers including DoorDash, Johnson & Johnson, LinkedIn and American Express. The company reached cash-flow positive status earlier than typical startups and reports generating plenty of cash from sales. Nexla has almost 100 employees and is hiring with plans to reach about 150 in the next eight to nine months. Its hybrid and remote hiring approach has broadened international and gender diversity on the team. Nexla builds a data operations platform that brings integration, preparation and monitoring of data together in one place for enterprises. The company says it has traction with large customers including DoorDash, Instacart, Poshmark and Freshworks. Nexla launched in beta after participating in TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield and raised a $3.5M seed at that time. It has since built a cash flow positive business and chose to take on outside capital to accelerate growth. With the new funding Nexla plans to hire and reach close to 50 employees by year-end and to expand its market to smaller organizations. The company operates remotely with an office presence in San Mateo, California and intends a hybrid approach when offices reopen. Nexla offers a web-based SaaS platform that manages secure inter-company data collaboration at scale. The interface allows business users to send, receive, transform, and monitor data in their preferred format and to grant and revoke access to partners. The company has launched its platform in public beta. Nexla is led by co‑founder and CEO Saket Saurabh. The company raised $3.5m in seed funding to support growth. Nexla plans to use the funds to expand its engineering, product management, sales, and customer success teams.
