Nextbase designs and manufactures dash cams and related safety products, marketing proprietary technology and standout product features. Its current Series 2 range includes Emergency SOS, Alexa built-in, AutoSync and what3words integration. Revenue has grown by over 30% per annum for each of the last five years and is expected to be approximately £62m for the FY19-20 financial year. Nextbase claims around 80% market share in the UK and about 50% in Europe, has recently launched in the US, and sells products in more than 10,000 retail stores including Best Buy, Walmart, Halfords and MediaMarkt. The company has built a large catalogue of proprietary IP, forged partnerships with insurers, and operates the National Dash Cam Safety Portal to support footage sharing with police and insurers. Future plans highlighted by management include accelerating UK-based R&D and infrastructure investment, rolling out 4G/5G functionality, developing automotive and insurance products and services, and expanding further into North America and other international territories.
