NextGO Epi
Berlin, Berlin, Germany, Europe
Overview
NextGO Epi develops and manufactures Gallium Oxide epitaxial wafers—the electrically active layer used in high-power semiconductor devices. The company, founded in 2025 as a spin-off of the Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ), claims to be Europe’s only producer of industrial-quality Gallium Oxide epiwafers up to 4 inches. Its technology targets applications including EV charging stations, renewable energy inverters, AI data centres, and missile tracking systems. NextGO Epi reported it is already in production, generating revenue, and serving customers on three continents. The company highlights performance advantages of Gallium Oxide over silicon carbide and gallium nitride, and has brought on Dr. Jochen Linck as an Operating Partner to support commercial scale-up. The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product development, grow the team, and expand commercial reach across Europe and global markets.
