Overview
Nextpeer provides a tournament and social SDK that lets developers quickly add multiplayer, real-time tournaments and social features to otherwise single-player mobile games. Players sign in via Facebook Connect, join live tournaments, and receive real-time status notifications during play rather than sharing a single game screen. Tournaments can include optional bets using Nextpeer virtual currency; winners take virtual money in Nextpeer currency when wagers are used. Nextpeer currency will be purchasable in an accompanying standalone Nextpeer mobile app, which the company plans to launch soon. The SDK is initially available for iOS with Android planned for a later release; the product is in private beta with a few games testing and the company is in talks with additional developers. Nextpeer has raised $300,000 from angel investor Morris Wolfson; the team is led by CEO Shai Magzimof, CTO Daniel Shir, and VP Itamar Mula, and the company is a pivot from the Android app Innobell.
