Overview
NextVivo develops an immune organoid technology platform that creates miniature 3D human tissue models retaining key organ and immune cell types. Its organoids recapitulate spatial organization and functional interactions among healthy, disease, and immune cells to enable generation and testing of candidate therapies outside the body. The platform is based on technology licensed from Stanford University and aims to generate cell and antibody therapies and to support preclinical and clinical testing across cancer, infection, and autoimmune disorders. NextVivo emerged from stealth with financing to advance the platform and generate novel drug candidates using immune-competent human-derived models. The company says its approach overcomes barriers that have limited other organoids by preserving physiologically relevant cell type diversity. NextVivo is co-founded by Drs. Mark Davis, Calvin Kuo, and Adam Margolin and is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA.
