Overview
nFluence Media provides B2B2C technology solutions that enable consumers to quickly create interest graphs (advertars) containing 700 dimensions to build detailed profiles. Those profiles are used to deliver more accurate recommendations for deals, offers, ads and messages. The company has been testing its technology with large subscription businesses and is now seeing interest from supermarkets, mobile carriers, credit card issuers and TV networks. nFluence intends to use the recent funding for its first large-scale deployments. The company raised a further $1.6M in funding, with backers that included current investors. nFluence is headquartered in Seattle, Washington and London, England. nFluence Media builds an anonymous self‑profiling deal‑targeting technology whose first consumer product is an iPhone app called dealBoard. The dealBoard app lets users build preference profiles without submitting names, email addresses, zip codes or phone numbers via a proprietary “brand sorter.” The app will surface offers (no emails sent) and is said to pull in over 35,000 offers from retailers and deal providers including Groupon, LivingSocial and Gilt Groupe. The company collects voluntarily shared data and device/location/OS/browser/unique ID info but does not link profiles to personal identity. nFluence emerged from two years in stealth to launch the app and plans to expand the anonymous targeting technology into other verticals such as mobile carriers, cable/satellite TV operators and shopping mall owners. Leadership includes co‑founders CEO Henry Lawson and CTO Brian Roundtree, with Tom Huseby named chairman of the board.
