Niio
9 HaTa'asiya St, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel
Overview
Niio operates a blockchain-based digital art platform that lets users stream artwork on any screen and combines a subscription service with a marketplace for editioned works and NFTs. Founded in 2014 by Rob Anders and Oren Moshe, the company provides tools for publishing, managing, monetizing and preserving digital art, and says it will remain free for artists to publish. Niio serves a global community of more than 6,000 artists, galleries and institutions, approximately 10,000 business customers, and hosts around 15,000 premium works displayed across public spaces in over 30 countries. The company plans to launch a subscription service at the end of 2021 followed by an NFT marketplace and will use new capital to grow its artist community and scale its app-enabled subscription and purchase platform with trading-enabled NFT functionality. Niio cites a strategic partnership with Samsung Displays to help deliver content to screens, referencing Samsung's 30–40% share of the smart TV market, and projects the digital art market at $50–$100 billion by 2025.
