Nile
3590 N First St Suite 300, San Jose, CA, 95134, United States
Overview
Nile is developing a serverless Postgres-based data system that treats multi-tenancy as a core primitive to simplify data management for SaaS companies. The platform separates the data layer from compute, allowing developers to connect virtual tenant databases to shared compute or attach dedicated compute nodes for isolation. Nile provides session-level isolation today and plans connection-level isolation soon, plus features for user management, customer dashboards, and vector embeddings for AI use cases (based on pgvector). The founders, Sriram Subramanian and Gwen Shapira, built the product from experience running Confluent as a SaaS and aim to reduce engineering overhead and cost by centralizing databases and enabling horizontal sharding. The company offers a limited free plan behind a waitlist and is working on paid plans.
