Founded in June 2010 by former Amazon executives Chris Pinkham and Willem van Biljon, Nimbula delivers a comprehensive cloud operating system that lets customers repurpose existing infrastructure and build a computing cloud inside their own data centers. The company’s product offering addresses management of both on- and off‑premises infrastructure. Nimbula is based in Menlo Park, California and maintains a development team in South Africa. It secured $15M in a second round of venture capital financing to fund growth. The company said the new capital will enable continued investment in hybrid cloud computing technologies and expansion of market adoption. As part of the financing, Ping Li of Accel Partners joined Nimbula’s board of directors.
