Overview
Rezubio, founded by former Merck scientists, is building a pipeline around its proprietary Membrane-Anchored Drug Design (MADD) platform, which uses engineered kinetophores to tether pharmacophores to epithelial tissue and achieve highly localized drug activity. The lead candidate is a gut-targeted GPCR agonist for obesity and diabetes that has already entered clinical trials in Australia and is slated for Phase 2 development. A second program, an antagonist against a different GPCR for immune and inflammatory disorders, is expected to enter Phase 1 trials in early 2026. By minimizing systemic exposure, the MADD approach aims to boost efficacy, reduce off-target effects, and extend dosing intervals. The company’s pipeline also includes additional IND-enabling and early preclinical assets leveraging the same platform. Rezubio’s recent $20 million Series A financing provides the capital required to advance these programs, though the company has not yet disclosed any commercial revenue or user metrics.
