Overview
Nod Labs develops gesture-controlled wearable rings that let users interact with VR headsets, drones and other connected devices using natural hand gestures. The company released its original gesture-controlled Nod Ring in 2014 and has since added the Nod Backspin, a gaming-focused ring that includes a thumb joystick and gaming buttons. Both devices support multiple VR platforms (Google Cardboard, Oculus DK2, OSVR HMD, Samsung Gear VR and ZEISS VR One) and can control 3DR, DJI and Parrot drones. Nod positions its hardware for both VR gaming and broader connected-home and entertainment use, and makes devices available to developers on Nod.com. Financially, the company has completed early fundraising and is actively marketing the Backspin to expand its product reach.
