I Own My Data (IOMD) builds Node, a platform that lets consumers store and manage their online interactions, purchases, cards, addresses and preferences on their own devices to enable one-click checkouts across merchants. The system requires no central servers; the company says data sharing is controlled solely by the user and that this approach reduces the need for passwords and the risk of hacking or phishing. Founder and CEO Rohan Mahadevan, who spent 15 years at PayPal including as SVP of its international division, started the company last year and positions Node as distinct from single‑sign‑on tools and not a payments processor. Node is emerging from stealth, the company has a live app in the App Store, a 20-person team, and is onboarding merchants into a beta program. IOMD raised $2.75 million in a seed round led by Neotribe Ventures with participation from executives and founders from Bill Me Later, Boku, Citicards, Facebook, Magento, Meta and PayPal. The new capital will fund product development and go-to-market efforts, and the company eventually aims to expand globally.
