NodeKit, based in Ames, IA, raised $1.2M in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Borderless Capital and included Avalanche’s Blizzard Fund, Polygon Ventures, the Wormhole Cross-Chain Ecosystem Fund, and many angels. The company intends to use the funds to help decentralize rollups empowered by SEQ. NodeKit is developing SEQ, a shared sequencer L1 designed to decentralize rollup transaction sequencing and help rollups capitalize on their advantages with fewer tradeoffs. SEQ orders blocks for multiple rollups and supports atomic inclusion using atomic bundles within the same block, enabling new cross-chain interoperability. The company is led by CEO Noah Pravecek, CTO Nick Preszler, and founding software engineer Ricardo Tavarez.
