Norcod
Thomas Angells gate 22, Trondheim, Sor-Trondelag, 7011, Norway
Overview
Norcod focuses on producing sustainably farmed whitefish to serve growing global demand for responsibly sourced protein. Its core product is low-intensity Atlantic cod, positioned as an environmentally friendly alternative to wild-caught fish. The company intends to scale production to 25,000 tonnes of cod per year and will direct newly raised capital toward expanding farming capacity. A strategic tie-up with Portuguese food-retail group Jerónimo Martins gives Norcod access to distribution channels such as Biedronka in Poland, Pingo Doce in Portugal, and Ara in Colombia, materially widening its market reach. The new investor joins existing shareholders Sirena Group and High Liner Foods, deepening Norcod’s shareholder base. Financially, the firm is bolstering resources with a NOK 157 million (€13.3 million) capital injection through the issuance of 12.7 million new shares, though no revenue or profitability figures were disclosed.
