Nostos Genomics develops an AI platform called AION that can identify gene variants responsible for more than 10,000 diseases and reduces diagnosis time from about 12 hours to within two minutes. The company says its fully automated solution cuts costs, improves diagnostic accuracy and lowers the chance of misdiagnosis. Nostos has a CE‑IVD certified procedure already launched Europe‑wide and has patent proceedings pending in the U.S. It is using data from Genomics England for a large‑scale validation study. Founded in 2018 and based in Berlin, the startup raised a €5 million seed to fund product and commercial expansion. The capital will be used to roll out the technology to new European markets and the U.S., expand the development team and launch a series of studies to further develop the platform.
