Novate Medical is a development-stage medical device company focused on an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter for the prevention of pulmonary embolism. The company intends to use new capital to advance clinical development of its IVC filter for patients at transient high risk of pulmonary embolism in the USA and Europe. Novate was founded in 2006 by Chas Taylor and Paul Gilson and is based in Galway, Ireland. The company previously raised €4m in 2007 led by Seroba Bioventures.
