Overview
NTx develops distributed biomanufacturing systems—branded NTxpress and NTxscribe—to enable on‑demand production of mRNA vaccines and protein therapeutics. The company emphasizes eco‑friendly, sustainable processes that reduce harmful byproducts and use U.S.-made raw materials. Its platform is designed to scale from personalized medicine dosages to pandemic‑level volumes. NTx is pursuing an end‑to‑end domestic supply chain for critical biomaterials to reduce costs and simplify manufacturing. The company plans commercial expansion and broader deployment of its systems across pharmaceutical, governmental, and clinical organizations. To support that expansion, NTx secured $15 million in venture debt from J.P. Morgan to fund deployment and commercialization efforts. Nature's Toolbox (NTx) builds next-generation platforms to manufacture RNA and protein, including NTxscribe and NTxpress. NTxscribe is a cell-free, true continuous-flow manufacturing system designed to deliver scalable RNA materials in a small footprint and is being deployed in biopharma R&D to expedite mRNA therapeutic development. NTxpress is a fully recombinant cell-free expression system that produces proteins while minimizing unwanted cellular metabolism. The company says its platforms can scale from personalized-medicine dosages to pandemic-volume manufacturing and are being evaluated in BARDA DRIVe's first Vaccines-on-Demand contract for pandemic preparedness. NTx will use the Series B proceeds to accelerate development and commercialization of its NTxscribe and NTxpress platforms to enable global distribution of manufacturing capabilities and increased access to vaccines and medicines. NTx is based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico; the company said this $47.5M Series B was the largest Series B raised by a New Mexico life sciences company in recent history. Nature's Toolbox develops a proprietary host-independent biological manufacturing and development platform for pharmaceutical drug discovery and the manufacturing of biologicals. The platform is intended to support vaccines and protein-based therapies, including potential applications in cancer and autoimmune disorders. The company is led by Alex Koglin, PhD, and is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The new capital will be used to advance the company’s platform and development efforts. Nature's Toolbox also announced the addition of Charles McMillan, PhD, to its board of directors. In addition to equity financing, the company received a $339K grant from the New Mexico Department of Economic Development’s Job Training Incentive Program.
