Nuclea Biotechnologies develops clinical diagnostic assays that identify gene and protein expression profiles characteristic of individual tumors and diseases. The company uses translational medicine–based technology to discover disease-specific biomarkers and to create tests that predict a patient’s response to oncology therapeutics and risk of recurrence. Its pipeline includes FAS Assays and tests targeting colon, breast, leukemia, lung and prostate cancers. Nuclea plans to advance regulatory work and clinical validation of its platforms. The company said it will use new funding to support clinical trials, facility upgrades, new hires and general operations. It announced a $3.4 million venture capital financing to support these efforts.
