Numbat
Keselstraße 16, Kempten, Bayern, 87435, Germany
Overview
Numbat develops a combined battery storage and fast-charging system that pairs a batteries-based storage with a so-called "High-Power Charger" to speed up EV charging. The company was founded in 2021 by Maximilian Wegener and Martin Schall and is based in Kempten. Its stated aim is to advance e-mobility by enabling quicker charging through the integrated storage-plus-charger approach. Numbat received a large institutional investment from Patrizia together with a German bank consortium led by DAL. Earlier financing included a prior, double-digit million euro investment by eCAPITAL alongside existing backers such as sonnen founder Christoph Ostermann. The company says that with the Patrizia funds combined with external lenders, investments well above €1 billion become realizable. Numbat plans to use the capital to scale its charging solution and support wider deployment of fast-charging infrastructure.
