Numecent offers Cloudpaging, a client-side containerization and virtualization platform that dynamically provisions any Microsoft Windows application from the cloud by transporting pre-virtualized software fragments to physical or virtual desktops. The platform allows provisioning without requiring enterprise data to be moved. Numecent's customers include major ISVs, cloud service providers and enterprises. The company is led by Osman Kent, Executive Chairman and co-founder. In November 2015 Numecent raised a $15.5M Series B, bringing total funding to date to approximately $38M. Investors in the round included Deutsche Telekom (which contributed $4.5M), European industrialists, family offices and private equity firms. Numecent provides patented cloudpaging technology that delivers native applications from the cloud and executes them on client platforms without installation. The technology enables customers to offer subscription-based models such as SaaS without altering the underlying software. Primary customers include independent software vendors (ISVs), managed service providers (MSPs), telcos and enterprises. Numecent is headquartered in Irvine, CA and maintains EMEA offices in the UK. The company closed $13.6M in funding and plans to use the proceeds to grow the business and expand sales, marketing and engineering efforts. It also intends to make cloudpaging available on Linux, Google Android and other mobile platforms. Led by co-founder and CEO Osman Kent, the company is hiring. Numecent is a stealth startup building a patented "cloudpaging" push-pull paging technology that allows software instructions and data to be demand-paged from the cloud in real time. The company says cloudpaging enables any software, app, or game to pull data on demand to any connected device in a secure, metered, and virtualized fashion, and positions it as a successor to streaming. Numecent holds 10 patents for application streaming and virtualization through its subsidiary Endeavours Technologies, which was spun out of a DARPA think tank. The company reports high-profile testers deploying its hybrid-cloud solution in mission-critical environments and has launched an "application jukebox" for Red Hat to deliver traditional Windows applications to Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization-hosted desktops. Numecent plans to exit stealth in March and reveal more technical and usage details at that time. Financially, the company previously raised $7.5M in seed funding from private investors and has taken a $2M Series A tranche as part of a larger $10M funding round.
