Nuvyyo develops the Tablo Over-the-Air (OTA) digital video recorder system that combines a physical DVR device with companion software apps for smartphones, tablets, computers, and streaming set-top boxes. The Tablo DVR lets consumers browse, record, and stream free OTA television without subscription services, targeting cord-cutters moving away from cable and satellite. The company plans to use its new funding to accelerate production of Tablo DVRs to meet increased demand through both retail and direct-to-consumer channels. Management cites market tailwinds, noting OTA antenna use is up more than 50% over the past eight years while traditional pay-TV providers report subscriber losses.
