Nvest is developing an investor tool that emphasizes interactivity and social investing features. According to an SEC filing, Nvest Inc. landed $10 million in exchange for equity and stock. Michael Sha is listed as an executive on the filing; he co-founded SigFig and portfolio manager Wikinvest and is noted for putting an emphasis on interactivity. The filing also lists directors John Buttrick (partner, Union Square Ventures), Jason Kirkorian (partner, DCM) and Mark Britto (CEO, Boku). The article notes competition from existing social-investing services such as Motif and Covest and mentions another company called Nvest that allows users to track and recommend stocks and share insights (still in beta). The company did not respond to VentureBeat's request for comment.
