Nx develops tooling to simplify development within a single code repository (monorepos), offering an open-source build system and a cloud-hosted product called Nx Cloud. The company focuses primarily on the JavaScript ecosystem but its tools are language-agnostic and support private or open-source plugins. Co-founders Jeff Cross and Victor Savkin previously worked on Google's Angular team and started an Angular consulting business in 2016 before creating Nx. Nx Cloud aims to speed builds by caching task outputs, only building what needs to be built, and distributing work optimally. The startup says it helps teams ship features faster and is positioning Nx Cloud as more of a replacement for existing CI tools such as Jenkins. Nx has a 37-person team, claims hundreds of subscribers and more than 15 million installs of the open-source project per month, has more than doubled enterprise customers, quintupled SaaS revenue, and reports over two years of runway while hiring to meet inbound enterprise demand.
