Nylon
Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand, Oceania
Overview
Nylon (formerly Law Cyborg) offers an AI-driven research platform that answers detailed tax and legal questions using a defined set of trusted sources and returns in-text citations and a confidence score. The company serves close to 2,000 accounting and law firms across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, including two of the Big Four. Founded by Andrew Wierda, the product expanded from tax into employment law and expanded into Australia and the UK in 2025. Nylon recently launched a meeting bot that listens to client and advisory meetings, flags potential issues and provides summarized, issue-spotting notes. The team of about 25 is mostly based in Auckland and the company has kept development in New Zealand while growing offshore. Financially, Nylon raised an angel round in 2024 and a $2 million pre-seed from Blackbird before opening its current $20 million Seed raise to fund further international expansion.
