Oceanic Constellations is a Kamakura-based startup developing a marine swarm-control platform that aims to deploy the world’s largest fleet of unmanned surface vessels (USVs) as quickly as possible. Its core product combines proprietary hardware and software to enable coordinated, large-scale ocean operations. The company says it is transitioning from proof-of-concept trials to full commercial deployment, reflecting growing market traction. Co-CEOs Mitsuaki Obata and Takuma Honda lead the company’s push to social implementation of USVs. To finance this next phase, the firm secured ¥2 billion in Series B1 funding, bringing additional capital to accelerate product rollout and expand operations. Previous financing included a Series A1 round led by Globis Capital Partners, though its size was not disclosed. The fresh funds position Oceanic Constellations to scale manufacturing, enhance software capabilities, and pursue real-world maritime projects.
