Octet Medical develops electrostatic technology to enhance application and treatment of topical conditions. Its lead asset, the Octet Medical Electrostatic Applicator (OMEA), uses a proprietary design to electrostatically charge reagents so particles disperse into the contours of target tissue and adhere to the desired area. The OMEA sprayer transforms sprayed fluid into charged particles that uniformly coat and adhere to surface tissue. The company is researching cartridges specific to antiseptic/analgesics, cartridges containing biologics such as stem cells, and polymer-containing cartridges for electrospinning to cover wounds. Octet intends to use the new funding to advance development of OMEA for use in clinical trial programs. The company is led by CEO Bud Brainerd and Founder and Chairman Cliff Wright.
